Turkey Transmitter

The Turkey Transmitter GPS monitoring backpacks have been specially designed for studying these magnificent birds.

VECTRONIC Aerospace applies rugged, reliable, industry-leading wildlife monitoring technology to the study of wild turkey ecology. This transmitter uses a micro-GPS to understand the scale at which wild turkeys move through local and regional habitats — enhancing biologists’ abilities to target areas to lift or restore wild turkey populations throughout their range. This GPS monitoring backpack offers almost unlimited sampling interval options and allows for wide flexibility in scheduling location acquisition without satellite cost and more dependable performance. Secured by a trio of expandable cords, this is an easy-to-use device that delivers important data from a small and comfortable design.

Further information about the 1D battery, round shaped collar:

This SURVEY Collar is universally applicable. It can fit several species and works as a basic economic model. This collar variation was (amongst others) deployed to the following species: Wolf, puma, white-tailed deer, sheep, puma, pronghorn antelope, mule deer, mountain lion, mountain goat, moose, Mexican wolf, leopard, jaguar, grizzly bear, elk, cougar, caribou, black bear, bighorn sheep, Arabian ibex, et al.

Features of the chosen collar:

  • Battery: 2D
  • Shape: Drop
  • Weight: Starting with 650 g
  • Belting: Standard, green

Further information about the 2D battery, drop shaped collar:

This SURVEY Collar is mostly designed for herbivores. Mainly, it is deployed to elks, moose and caribou. It is like the collar to the left a simple, economical variation of our portfolio. Besides the species already mentioned, this collar was deployed to: Black-tailed deer, moose, caribou, elk, feral pig, wild boar, red deer, scimitar horned oryx, et al.

Features of the chosen collar:

  • Battery: 1D
  • Shape: Round
  • Weight: Starting with 450 g
  • Belting: Expandable, black

Further information about the 1D battery, round shaped, expandable belt collar:

This SURVEY Collar is mostly designed for herbivores. The collar has an expandable belt part. This design ensures that the belt always fits a growing neck. This collar variation is especially designed for fawns, calf or for species with variable, seasonal neck sizes. The collar was (amongst others) deployed to the following species: Red deer, mule deer, bighorn sheep, moose calf, et al.

Features of the chosen collar:

  • Battery: 1C
  • Shape: Round
  • Weight: Starting with 350 g
  • Belting: Elastic, cotton belt break away, black

Further information about the 1C battery, round shaped, elastic belt collar:

With the 1C battery, this SURVEY has the smallest battery size of our portfolio. The collar has an elastic belt part. This design is mostly used for reacting to swelling necks during rutting season or simply due to seasonal fluctuating neck sizes. SURVEY collars with an elastic belt part always come with a cotton belt break away. This collar variation was (amongst others) deployed to the following species: Wapiti, elk calf, bobcat, wild dog, et al.
